Swaffham boss backs his side to bounce back
Swaffham Town manager Paul Hunt is backing his Pedlars to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat to Yaxley last time out when they welcome Needham Market Reserves to Shoemakers Lane tomorrow.
Hunt’s side went down 3-1 to Yaxley last Saturday and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Wisbech St Mary in their last Eastern Counties League First Division North outing.
But Hunt is not worried about Swaffham suffering back-to-back defeats.
Hunt said: “It is early days, we are still missing one or two and we still have players settling into the side who came in over the summer.
“It is going to take time, but we have shown on the opening day that when everything comes together we have got a really strong squad who will be challenging towards the top of this division.
“It is too early to be worrying, there are always strange results this time of the year.”
Hunt believes Needham Market will be stronger than they were last term.
“Needham Reserves have been in the League a while now, we know what to expect but I think they will be stronger than they were last season and we still have to respect them.
“I am confident we can get a good result on Saturday and get back to winning ways then it is about going on a run building some momentum.”
After opening their campaign with two away games, King’s Lynn Town Reserves make their home bow against Norwich CBS at The Walks.
Adam Seal’s side have started the season with a win and a defeat, although Seal felt his side should have returned home with at least a point from Diss last weekend after missing a host of chances.
Seal, who signed striker Josh Winner this week, said: “We’ve got to be more confident and ruthless in front of goal and take some of our chances.”
Paul Neary takes his Downham Town side to Leiston Reserves on the back of their 5-1 drubbing by Harleston Town last weekend.
