King’s Lynn fighters step into the ring on shows at St Ives, Great Yarmouth and Halstead

King's Lynn Youth Boxing Club has had several fighters in action on shows across the eastern region.

First up for the club at St Ives was Bobby Mitchell, who took on home fighter Riley Ward in what proved to be a cracking bout between the two.

Ward came out strongly at the first bell but Mitchell was ready to trade shots with his opponent, holding his ground to get several clean shots on target.

Despite being forced back on the ropes, Mitchell maintained his composure to box on the back foot, making his accuracy count against the home fighter.

Mitchell began to take command of the bout and his efforts saw him rewarded with a unanimous decision - much to the delight of his coaches Mel Payne and Richard Girdlestone.

Lynn had two fighters take to the ring at the Hippodrome Circus, in Yarmouth, with 'Turbo' Harrison Booth meeting Sudbury-based Teddy Bishop in a rematch from earlier in the year.

After losing a split decision in the earlier fight, Booth, who had stepped up his efforts in training, was determined to avenge the loss this time around.

Booth out-boxed Bishop from the opening bell, catching his opponent with some excellent shots.

Displaying some great footwork throughout the fight, Booth was handed a unanimous decision.

Lynn's Albie Mallett then stepped onto the canvas for a skills bout against Harry Barstow.

Both fighters received applause from the watching crowd after delivering an entertaining bout in what was a non-scoring contest.

Lynn coaches Ryan Finch and Girldlestone were delighted with the efforts of Mallett.

Jack Fox was the final Lynn fighter in action at Halstead, where he came up against Charlie Woodley from Rainham Boxing Club.

Fox, who recently turned 15, kept Woodley at bay with some accurate shots with both hands.

The youngster refused to let his Eseex opponent back into the bout, countering his opponent to remain in charge for the remainder of the fight.
