West Norfolk athletes face anxious wait
West Norfolk Athletic Club’s senior and under-17 men’s team face an anxious wait to discover if they have done enough to reach the Eastern Athletics League final.
All of the club’s age groups were represented in the final meeting at Peterborough.
Results of the respective age groups were as follows:
Senior men: Allan Williams shot (8.67m) third, discus (25.47m) third, javelin (28.82m) third and hammer (21.89m) fourth; Lee Tunmore 100m B string (14.2sec) third, 200m B string (28.8sec) second, 400m (64.6sec) fourth, high jump B string (1.35m) second, long jump B string (3.77m) third; Neil Watson 800m B string (2m30.6sec) second, 1500m B string (5m14.2sec) third 110m hurdles (24.9sec) fourth, high jump (1.45m) fifth; Ben Collison 400m B string (68.3sec) fourth, 800m (2m30.1sec), 1500m (5m.08.4sec) fifth; Adam Dewdney shot (6.72m) third, discus (14.90m) third, javelin (19.67m) second; Rahim Benson 100m (12.1sec) fourth, 200m (24.5sec) fourth, long jump (6.20m) first.
Under-17 men: Alfie Williams shot (13.40m) first, discus B string (25.09m) first, javelin B String (26.89m) first; Charlie Williams shot B string (12.16m) first, discus (35.41m) first, javelin (28.71m) second; Ben Richards high jump (1.55m) fourth, long jump (4.87m) third, 100m (13.7sec) seventh.
Under-15 boys: Rory Sewell javelin (21.41m) third, high jump (1.40m) third.
Under-13 boys: Charlie Tunmore 800m (2m47.4sec) fourth, shot (4.74m) fifth; Thomas O’Neil javelin (22.34m) third, long jump (3.80m) fourth, 100m (15.9sec) fifth.
Senior woman: Tayla Benson high jump (1.45m) first and long jump (4.31m) second.
Under-15 girls: Abby Watson high jump (1.35m) second, 800m B string (2m46.8sec) sixth, discus; Poppy Tunmore 800m (2m56.4sec) seventh, high jump B string (1.15m) third, javelin; Amber Scott long jump (4.61m) second, javelin, 100m; Elizabeth Wood long jump B string (3.86m) first, 75m hurdles (16.3sec) seventh, 200m; Lily Teasdale 75m hurdles (14.9sec) sixth, discus, 200m.
Under-11 boys and girls: Jennifer Wood 600m (2m.24.6sec) and long jump (1.54m); James Cox 80m (14.9sec) and long jump (2.14m).
