Under-11 boys finish third for the season
Seventeen West Norfolk AC juniors took part in the third and final round of the Norfolk Sportshall League at the UEA Sportspark in Norwich.
The under-11 boys’ team of Alfie Bone, William Broad, Charlie Broad and James Cox, were sixth on the day in a tightly-fought contest which helped the team to third overall for the season.
Broad came first in the chest push with a throw of 7.75m, Bone was third in the vertical jump with 38cm and the 4 x 1 lap relay team also came third.
The under-11 girls’ team of Ester Broad, Sophie Garrett, Betty Schwarz, Jennifer Wood and Erin Woodrow were also sixth team on the day and also sixth in the overall in the series.
Garrett had the best result of the day with fifth in the chest push (5.25m).
The under-13 girls’ team consisting of Martha Broad, Millie Eveson, Holly Lawrence, Jessica Milnes, Sennen Tonkin and Eliza Upton, competing in a highly-competitive age division, were fourth on the day and also in the series.
Lawrence was third in the six-lap and fourth in the speed bounce (77), Tonkin third in the vertical jump (48cm) and Milnes fourth in the shot (6.02m) .
In the under-15 girls’ age group, in which athletes all compete as individuals, Amber Scott had yet another highly consistent competition where she finished first overall on the day to finish second in the series.
All the young athletes representing West Norfolk were a credit to the club showing great determination and effort to produce the results they managed.
