West Norfolk Athletic Club members honoured after exceptional season of results




West Norfolk Athletic Club held their annual awards evening and AGM last Friday at Lynnsport.

An almost full club turnout enjoyed hearing the achievements of the athletes of all ages throughout the year.

Chairman Chris Ely stood down after three years service, handing the baton to Gavin Lane, who thanked Ely for his dedication to the club throughout his time as chairman.

Club president Wally Oliver spoke about an exciting year of high level accomplishments for the club’s athletes and looked forward to the 2019 season.

Junior coach Paul Bailey gave out the junior ESAA and AAA awards along with a passionate speech congratulating the junior athletes for their commitment and hard work this year.

West Norfolk Athletic Club would like to thank Lynnsport for their continued support.

Best Under-15: Joseph Williams, Amber Scott.

Best Under-20: Rahim Benson, Michaela Raine.

Best Senior: James Greenhalgh, Tayla Benson.

Best Veteran: Neil Watson, Debbie Schwarz.

Best Track Performance (Murray Cup): Sophie Coleman.

Best Field Performance: Alfie Williams.

Best Endurance Athlete: Martin Koenigsberger.

Best Para Athlete: Wesley Houghton, Lilly Edwards.

Coach of the year: Sally Edwards.

Official of the year: Matthew Bailey.

Commitment to athletics: Benjamin Collison.

Christine Moss Memorial Trophy: Ester Broad.

EAL: Lee Tunmore, Poppy Tunmore.

EMAC: Benjamin Collison, Hannah Marsters.

Eastern Young Athletics League: Thomas O’Neill, Annie Bastian.
