Inter-club success at endurance race




West Norfolk Athletic Club’s endurance runners battled the Hereward Relay.

The four-stage, 38.4 mile continuous relay from Peterborough to Ely passed over roads, bridleways, fields, bridges and tracks.

The pocket rocket Debbie Schwarz got Team Sprint off to a flying start.

Schwarz handed over to Neil Watson who was pleased with his 76.41 clocking.

Tim Coates finished strongly, passing on to Gavin Lane who completed the team in 5.25.03 (67th place).

Team Hammer took the inter-club win with Matt Gingell setting the pace on stage one (56.01).

Ritchie Walker was pleased with his run before passing on to Ben Collison. Collison made up more than 25 minutes to pass Team Sprint on to Samantha Stringer who stormed the last leg to finish in 5.19.47 and 59th overall.
