The talk will be based around Georgian pleasure gardens and urban open spaces.

As the urban middle classes grew in number and wealth in the 1700s, they sought new ways to socialise and entertain themselves.

The Georgian ‘pleasure garden’ was a forerunner of the modern urban park – and many modern parks were developed in this period.

The ticket price for non-members is £2.50.
