Gayton Hall opening grounds for one day for visitors to explore spring bulbs as part of National Garden Scheme
Why not take the family out and explore spring bulbs and the early blossom, as a popular garden is hosting an open day?
As part of the National Garden Scheme, the private home of Gayton Hall will be opening its gates so guests can enjoy meandering through a watery landscape.
It will be open on Saturday, March 22 from 11am-4pm.
Admission for adults is £6 and children can enter for free. There will be tea, coffee and cakes available in aid of charity.
The rambling semi-wild garden has more than two miles of paths which meander along streams, bridges and woodland.
Primulas, astilbes, hostas, lysichiton and gunnera grow along the water’s edge. There is a good display of spring bulbs.
A variety of unusual trees and shrubs - many labelled - have been planted over the years. There is wheelchair access to most areas via gravel and grass paths. Dogs are allowed to come along.
Before visiting a garden, it is advisable to check the website for up-to-date information: www.ngs.org.uk
