February also marks the opening of True’s Yard’s new exhibition: Timber! Trees and Seas: The Port of Lynn.
The exhibition, which opens on February 13 at noon, is supported by Setra Wood Products Ltd. and will be opened by Stuart Newman, the managing director of Setra.
Gaynor Western, assistant curator, said: “It has been a very positive collaboration between True’s Yard and Setra, where we have been able to come together to uncover some fascinating and quite unexpected facts about the import of timber over the centuries into Lynn.
“Behind every object we have in the museum, there is a human story.
“The story of trees coming over the seas into Lynn port touches on some very important local history of the town as well as bringing some hidden, and sometimes quite dark and remarkable histories from the other side of the globe, right to our doorstep.”
The exhibition and the museum itself are free to enter every Wednesday and Saturday until the end of March.
