Golf club day in aid of two charities

Places are open for a charity day at Swaffham Golf Club in support of two charities.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Swaffham as part of its 50th year celebrations, it is the sixth year the golf day has taken place at the course.

A total of £20,000 has been raised by the Rotary Club through the golf days so far.

And places are now open for this year’s event, taking place on Monday, July 22 from 9.30am.

Denis Bishop of the Rotary Club said: “It is building up as it normally does.

“We are getting towards our full compliment of golfers, but we have still got places left”.

The two main charities being supported through the event are the East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Merle Boddy Day Centre.

“We always pick one regional charity and one local charity to attract golfers from across Norfolk,” Mr Bishop said.

The cost per player is £45, which includes a two-course meal.

Teams of four cost £180 and can be gents, ladies or mixed.

Mr Bishop added: “The course can only take 22 teams of four and we normally have at least 20 teams of four, which makes 80 golfers”.

Limited places can be obtained by either emailing bill.muir13@talktalk.net or denis.bishop@btinternet.com.

Alternatively you can call Mr Bishop on 01760 721115.
