Memory Lane: Once upon a time rehearsal at Marham

This is the stuff that fairy tales are made of, with Marham First and Middle School pupils at rehearsal for their play Once Upon a Time, in March, 1983.

It’s all about a poor family: Mother Goose and her children, Jack and Jill, who overcome the evil Queen of Hearts to win their fortune. On the way they encounter a little green troll, Little Bo Peep, Little Boy Blue and Simple Simon.

The story was written by Mr Graeme Key, who is in charge of the Middle School. More than 70 of the pupils aged from five to twelve were helping to make sure the tale had a happy ending by going on stage for the two performances.

Money raised during the shows was to go towards new computer software.
