Snettisham Beach Sailing Club to hold open day for those interested in taking to the water




An event will be held for people interested in finding out about sailing.

The Snettisham Beach Sailing Club (SBSC) open day is on Sunday between 10am and 4pm enabling a range of sailing opportunities to suit everyone and all abilities.

A spokesperson said: “SBSC is a busy, friendly club with a great history.

“The club is one of the leading watersports clubs on the East Coast, with family-friendly, multi-level dinghy fleets, wind and kite surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking and a busy social club.

“We also have a radio controlled model yacht section.

“All our courses are bookable on our website and we can also schedule taster sessions and private tuition at a time to suit you.

The club will be running 20-minute taster sessions on the lake between 10 am - 4 pm and taster sessions on the sea from 1 pm -3:30 pm in both two man and single handed boats.

Sessions can be booked in advance, with a fee of £5 charged.

There are buoyancy aids available and all boats launch from the beach so participants are encouraged to wear old clothes , ideally not jeans and footwear that get wet and to bring a towel and change of clothes.
