Sandringham Fair is a go-to for festive gifts
Orgnaisers hope you’ll love the diverse array of artists, designers and craftsmen, food and drink producers and gifts at the traditional Sandringham Craft, Food and Gift Christmas Fair next month.
It is all mixed together with working craftsmen, chef cookery demonstrations, Santa Claus, reindeers, jesters and good food and live music.
The fair, on November 16-18, is a summary of other events at Sandringham – the Craft Show, the Food Festival and the Game and Country Fair – with exhibitors from all three shows.
There are well over 120 artists, designers and craftsmen offering a wide range of handcrafted, well designed gifts with many of them demonstrating their skills including jewellery in a variety of mediums; wood turned items; ladies’ clothing and accessories; scented items; clocks; toys; artwork, some created as you watch.
There are two large food halls hosting some 75 specialist food and drink producers and retailers, many offering tasters.
There are seven small individual gin producers, plus the monster artisan sausage rolls from Pig in the Middle.
The third group of 100 exhibitors are taken from the Country Fairs, housed in two large gift marquees and outdoor shopping arcades, offering a wide range of gifts. All major marquees are heated and have wooden floors.
Entertainments include ice carving, Santa Claus and reindeers, unicorn carriage rides, Christmas owls, chainsaw carving, craft and cookery demonstrations, food courts and live music, Fiery Jack, jester and games.
Country Kitchen hosting chefs Mark Lloyd, Andrea Wallace and Richard Bainbridge (Sunday) will present unusual Christmas recipes. Musicians include the jazzy Bill Bailey Band, while Castleford Brass round off proceedings on Sunday in the main marquee.
Due to the event’s popularity it has moved onto the larger Country Fair site.
