Shouldham Entertainment Committee putting on live show ‘Airport Alien’ in collaboration with Creative Arts East
Shouldham Entertainment Committee is continuing its mission of bringing live theatre to the community with a show full of laughter.
The committee is putting on a production of Airport Alien, from Rhubarb Theatre, intended for children and families on Saturday, February 22 at 2pm at Shouldham Village Hall.
Once again presented in collaboration with Creative Arts East, it will play for one performance only on the last Saturday of the February half term.
In Airport Alien, it is the summer of 1974 at the world’s busiest airport and everyone’s excited about their holidays.
But what’s this arriving on the runway? A spaceship from another world. ArVi the Alien has been sent from Planet X with her mission to find happiness.
Surrounded by technology, her species have lost their way. Their last hope is Earth, but ArVi’s in trouble. Everything’s so different, the language, the people, and even the fashions.
Can Snuffles and Colin the Customs Officer help her?
From Bell-bottoms to Benidorm, sandals to sniffer dogs, Rhubarb Theatre, known for its imaginative style of storytelling, performs this fun-filled fantasy for all the family.
Prepare for hilarity, poignancy, and surprises around every corner. The show addresses issues of communication and connectivity, promoting the simpler things in life, such as talking, playing, dancing and singing, and is suitable for the whole family, although particularly aimed at five to 11-year-olds.
There is also an after-show chat with the performers, so audiences can meet the puppets and props close up.
Airport Alien is a show told through visual inventiveness, puppetry, physical theatre, dance, original music and lots of laughter, and is sure to take you out of this world.
Tickets for the show are £5 for children, £10 for adults and £20 for a family of four.
