From egg hunts to meeting a bunny, here are ten activities to do this Easter in West Norfolk
Easter is a perfect time to get together with friends and family and have some much-needed fun.
With it now just around the corner, we have found some activities that can be enjoyed by everyone to mark the occasion...
Here are some of the best things to do come the end of April…
1- Giant egg hunt, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve
Join Pensthorpe for a ‘cracking eggstravaganza’ at its Easter Holiday trail full of giant, 4ft3 eggs placed around the reserve.
Visitors will be able to ‘eggsplore’ and learn more about the reserve’s feathered friends and guests at a fully immersive, multi-sensory trail.
Once you have completed the trail, participants will be able to head to the shop to collect their ‘Grow your own Beans’ and a limited edition badge.
Easter fun will be running from Saturday, April 5 until Tuesday, April 22.
2- The Easter Garden, Holkham Hall
Join Holkham for some gentle, Easter fun in the beautiful walled garden. There will be some cute and curious animals to meet, and an opportunity to get your hands dirty at the garden-themed ‘sow and grow’ activity.
There will also be games galore for visitors to get involved in, as well as storytelling from Dave Tonge and, of course, a chocolate treat.
The Easter events will be taking place on April 18, 19, 20 and 21.
3- Easter fun day, Vancouver Quarter
Vancouver Quarter businesses have teamed up with Discover King's Lynn to bring a free Easter egg-stravaganza. There will be live street entertainment with 'Bunji Bunny' and 'Charlie Chick', and live music from a steel band.
Visitors can complete an Easter scavenger hunt in return for an egg, as well as decorate an Easter bonnet. There will also be a colouring station and cupcake decorating.
The event will be taking place on Saturday, April 19, between 10am-3pm.
4- The Wizard of Oz – Easter Panto, Lynn Corn Exchange
Join Kansas farm girl Dorothy and her pet dog Toto on his magical adventure suitable for all ages.
Watch in amazement as they are picked up by a tornado and carried off to the magical Land of Oz. With help from their new friends the Munchkins, they travel to the Emerald City where the great Wizard lives.
Go and join in the fun over the rainbow as Enchanted Entertainment presents the wonderful Easter pantomime version of L. Frank Baum’s much-loved tale.
It will be packed with brilliant dance routines, well known pop songs, lots of audience participation and plenty of laughter for all the family.
The performance, which runs for around two hours and 20 minutes, will be taking place on Wednesday, April 9 at 2pm and 6pm.
5- Easter egg hunt, Church Farm, Stow Bardolph
Church Farm is putting on an Easter egg hunt where participants will be given one half of an egg, having to find the other half to receive a chocolate prize.
This is a free event, but visitors must pay the normal admission to enter the farm.
The event will be taking place on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
6- Easter fair, Bawsey
Go along to Bawsey Country Park and enjoy a day of Easter fun for all the family with stalls, free face painting, rides and games from BT’s Roadshow, with other attractions to be confirmed.
Don't forget the Easter Bunny - help her find her golden eggs to win a fantastic prize. Don't forget to take a break from all the fun and grab a bite to eat and drink at The Hub Café.
This event will be on Saturday, April 19.
7- Easter trail, Lynn Museum
Can you find the letters hidden around Lynn Museum inside eggs to make an Easter-themed word and win a small prize?
People will be able to participate in the trail from Saturday, April 5 until Tuesday, April 22 and can start at the reception at any time during opening hours. Included in standard admission.
8- Easter at Bewilderwood
If you want to venture out further, why not join the Bewilderwood team for a magical day filled with exciting activities and curious characters?
Hop your way over to Bewilderwood this April and meet Cedric the Easter Bunny. Find out what those Pesky Bunnies have been up to at the storytelling stage.
Follow the giant Easter egg trail and receive a special badge at the end.
Easter fun will be happening between Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 27.
9- Easter egg hunt, Oxburgh Estate
Make your way along the trail and find activities for the whole family. Go along and explore the beautiful gardens at Oxburgh with an Easter twist. There will be a trail sheet, bunny ears and chocolate eggs.
The trail takes place between Saturday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 22.
10- Egg hunt, Sea Life Hunstanton
This Easter, dive into an underwater adventure with your little ones at Sea Life Hunstanton. Embark on a fascinating activity trail to discover various species of shark eggs hidden throughout the aquarium.
Each egg along the trail will reveal a hidden letter - find all six letters to spell out a secret word. Once the word is unveiled, youngsters will receive a special Easter reward to take home.
Along the way, visitors also have the chance to meet the many fascinating shark residents of the centre.
This will be taking place between Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 27.
